Family in turmoil after body found in stream

The Northland family of a woman found dead in a stream are reeling over the tragedy and working out how to care for her two children.

A 29-year-old man appeared in the Whangarei District Court yesterday charged with murder after the 21-year-old mum's body was found lying face down on rocks in Waiarohia Stream near the city's main shopping area about 4am on Friday.

Both murder-accused and the deceased have interim name suppression.

The dead woman and the man accused of killing her were parents to two young children aged two, and four months.
