A curious crowd of 300 gathered at Logan Park in Dunedin yesterday to watch the Nude Blacks beat the Welsh Leeks in the unofficial curtain raiser to the last All Blacks test at Carisbrook.
Event organiser Ralph Davies said, "Unfortunately, the weather was fine for the game. We prefer Antarctic southerlies and about three degrees just to challenge the players a bit."
The match was refereed by former All Blacks Richard Loe and John Timu. As in other years the match has been played, a fully-clothed streaker was escorted from the field by a nude policewoman.
A try in the dying minutes of the game sealed the win for the Nude Blacks.
