Domestic violence attacks are continuing to increase in Christchurch. Police say the number of incidents is up by a fifth since the earthquake.
National family violence co-ordinator Inspector Brigitte Nimmo said the increase came on top of a large rise after the September earthquake.
Ms Nimmo said it was a stressful time for people, but family violence was unacceptable and there were plenty of support services available for those who needed help in dealing with their emotions.
