A man is injured after the car he was driving crashed into a house in the Auckland suburb of Manurewa.
The smash on Alfriston Rd, south of Manukau, has broken bricks and windows of the house.
Emergency services are on the scene.
It is understood a fire service heavy rescue to tender is on the scene to stabilise part of the house.
Police northern communications spokeswoman Jeanette Guttery said emergency officers were working to get the driver out.
The driver's condition was currently status two - serious - she said.
A St John spokeswoman said the driver has been taken to Middlemore Hospital in a serious condition.
In Northland: Four people have been injured in a two-car collision tonight.
Emergency services were called to State Highway 1 near Kaiwaka just after 8pm.
A St John spokeswoman said four people were being taken to hospital for treatment - three with moderate injuries and the fourth with minor injuries.
Police closed off the road - just south of the State Highway 12 intersection at Brynderwyn.
Detours are in place via Waipu and Mangawhai.
