The response from former pupils (and teachers) to Labour Weekend's Kaitaia Intermediate School has been so sluggish that the organisers are on the verge of abandoning it.
Committee member Shirley Williams said last week that 110 people had registered and paid, and 100 more had registered interest but had not paid.
The committee had expected 400 registrations, but would now be happy with 300.
"I think we'll be pushing it to even get that many now," Ms Williams said.

She planned to promote it at Saturday's market in Kaitaia, with a decision on whether to cancel it likely to be made later that day.
"We've got people from overseas who have registered and paid, and it wouldn't be fair on them to delay any longer if there's a major doubt that we'll have the numbers to make it work" she said.
"Imagine 100 people at Te Ahu. It'd be awful."
It was those aged 50-plus who were most interested, she added, but younger former pupils should ponder the likelihood that this would be the only Kaitaia Intermediate reunion in their lifetime.
"If they miss this chance they might never get another one," she said. The reunion marks the school's 50th year, although those who attended before 1968, when it was part of Kaitaia Primary School, are also welcome.
