The last major event of the season for Northland Centre was held last weekend at the Hikurangi greens when the 1-5 year bowlers had their opportunity to show everyone how great they are at the game, and some did exactly that.
Inter Club teams from Papakura, (Counties-Manukau); Balmoral (Auckland) Mairangi Bay (North Harbour) Mangawhai Men (Northland) and Kerikeri (Far North) did battle in conditions that were certainly not ideal for outdoor bowls.
Heavy passing showers, at one stage put the green under water and an hour later and lunch to follow saw the games get under way again and eventually a result was found from four rounds of play.
The team from Balmoral Auckland with only one loss for the day were the clear winners with 33 win points and a differential of plus 92 shots.
In second place was Mangawhai Men with 25 win points and a differential of -1; 3rd was Kerikeri with 22 win points and a 0 differential. Fourth was Mairangi Bay and fifth Papakura. Great ability was shown by all teams and although the day was disrupted by the weather it is congratulations to all the players and management who seem to thoroughly enjoy themselves.
