It may have taken nearly 10 years, but Hora Hora's Warren Dunn finally has his Taniwha blazer.
Dunn played his 15th game for the province last week against Canterbury - which the Taniwha lost 48-3 - after making his debut way back in 2006.
The chirpy centre laughs at it now, saying there was a long time between that first cap in 2006 and his 15th.
Playing in a blazer game was never a goal of Dunn's until he started getting a few caps under his belt.
"Sort of when I got into the mix [in 2011] it was something I could achieve and felt that it was something I could do.
"It was something I thought I could be proud of, and I am proud of it, and it's just awesome to be part of the team and playing for Northland."
In the 2014 Taniwha team Dunn is the oldest player on the books at 29, something the Hora Hora premiership winner also laughs at.
"I couldn't believe it, I was shocked when I found out [Dunn was the oldest]. The boys sort of have a mutual respect for you being the oldest, obviously not the most experienced though."
Dunn believes tonight's game against Hawke's Bay should be a good one and they know what they need to do to win.
"The boys know where we're going wrong and that Wellington game things just came together for us. We know what we need to do but we've got to go out and do it.
"With [it being Jack Ram's] blazer game too, I think it adds a bit of confidence going into the game."
