Hadley Greenhalgh, Jessica Pilmer, Zach Litchfied made their respective Hockey New Zealand Junior Black Sticks squads and Lisa Mather was selected in the NZ Secondary School Netball Squad.
Some athletes made their New Zealand debuts this year.
Ciara Smith and Annabell Simpson joined the Swimming NZ Age Group team that competed in Australia, Callum Hill made the NZ Secondary School Orienteering team and Scott Gregory played for the NZ Secondary School Barbarians Rugby team.
Other athletes continued their good form to continue their New Zealand representation.
Finn Trimble did well at the World Junior Squash Championships, Jasmine Milton was strong at the U19 World Beach Qualifying Champs and Zoe Dykzeul showed her potential at the squash Oceania Champs and transtasman test series.
Second year athlete Hayley McIntosh has had an outstanding year in swimming, winning silver at the Australian Age Group Champs in 800m freestyle which then qualified her to compete in the Junior Pan Pacific event in Hawaii.
McIntosh's achievements saw her selected by Swimming New Zealand for the Tokyo 2020 High Performance Squad and become a level three carded athlete where she is on-track to compete at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.
The athletes have put in many long hours training, travelling and competing to make it to the top level in their sports.
Some will train up to 20 hours a week during their season and travel out of Northland to compete every second weekend.
The sports hub aims to assist these athletes with balancing their sport and lives, improve their nutrition knowledge and sharpen their mental performance skills through the workshops that are put on throughout the year.
Well-known local athlete Ady McKenzie co-ordinates the programme and also supports the athletes through the NorthTec partnership.
The next intake of athletes to apply to enter the first year of the Educare Northland Sports Talent Hub will occur in April next year.
