Kerikeri comedy club

Bee hive dispute settled
Armed police responded to reports that shots had been fired in the Mangamuka area earlier this week, in the course of a dispute over the location of a company's bee hives. Police were subsequently satisfied that no firearms had been involved. The company subsequently removed its hives.
Hilux with barge leaves road
A Toyota Hilux and the large barge it was towing ended up in the roadside drain on the Awanui Straight on Monday afternoon, blocking the southbound lane, but no one was hurt and no damage was done. Carters in Kaitaia dispatched a hiab to return the vehicle and trailer to the road, a police spokesman saying the accident had been the result of a power to weight ratio issue.
Mangonui festival
Up to 5000 people are expected to pack Mangonui's waterfront for Saturday's Last of the Summer Wine Festival, celebrating the best of Northland food, wine, entertainment and arts, from noon to 6pm. Waterfront Drive will be closed to traffic, with more than 100 stalls and three stages to be erected, the programme featuring tug 'o war, paddleboarding and sailing races, with one stage reserved for young performers.
