Young surfer Tom Robinson was the best placed Team Northland member at last week's national Scholastic Surfing Championships.

Robinson, from Whangārei, came second in the Under 16 Boys Division at the national Scholastic Surfing Championships which finished in Gisborne last Thursday.

Robinson was the Northland Team's top performing surfer at the event, finishing runner-up in the Under 16 Boys Division.

As well, fellow Northland team member Billy Whelan came fourth in the Under 18 Longboard Division.


The Northland Team finished the event fifth overall out of the 12 teams competing.
