The Secondary Schools Winter Tournament Week is on this week with teams from across Northland battling those from around the country in their chosen codes.
Whangārei is hosting some of the most promising young female hockey players in the country during their tournament for the Federation Cup and Marie Fry Trophy.
The competition is at the Whangārei Hockey Centre at Kensington Park until Saturday. Thirty-six teams will take part, including Whangārei Girls' and Kamo high schools.
WGHS will play in the playoff for seventh against St Margaret's College at 9am today, while Kamo High finished 29th.
