Ukelele playing band The Nukes got their Northland tour going with a performance to Whangārei schoolchildren.

The West Auckland band got kids from Hurupaki School dancing and smiling during a performance yesterday.

It is one of many performances the band will be giving while in the region for their New Zealand Music Month tour.

The band performed and held a workshop in Dargaville last night, today at 6pm they host a workshop at Twin Pines Manor in Haruru Falls followed by a show at 8pm, tomorrow they will perform at The Old Stone Butter Factory in Whangārei. And on Sunday they host a 3pm workshop at the Te Ahu Centre in Kaitaia followed by a 5pm show.

The trio will also be visiting Maunu School today for a performance and workshop and on Tuesday next week they perform at Kamo Primary School.
