Northland sells winners
Two Lotto tickets sold in Northland were among 10 nationally that won more than $25,000 each with Lotto Second Division on Saturday. The tickets, sold at Marston Moor, Kaitaia and The Korna Store, in Whangarei, each won their holder $25,147.
Garage robbery charges
A 28-year-old man has been charged in relation to the aggravated robbery of the Dargaville Caltex Service in November last year. The Dargaville man has been charged with aggravated robbery and will next appear in the Whangarei District Court tomorrow. He also faces a number of other charges relating to the burglaries of homes in Maunu, Whangarei and Ruawai also in November.
NCEA results today
Northland students who have been eagerly awaiting their NCEA results will be able to find out how well they did today. Thousands of secondary school students from around the country sat exams which ran from November 9 to December 1. Students will be able to access their results from the NZQA website - http://www.nzqa.govt.nz today.
Police hunt burglar
Police are looking for a man described as Maori, five feet nine inches tall and of slim build, who was wearing camouflage pants and a white hoodie when he threw a slab of concrete through a sheet of clear plastic covering to gain entry to commercial premises in Kaitaia on Sunday afternoon. He is believed to have got away with a full ashtray.
Arts venue clarified
In a story in yesterday's Northern Advocate headed Artists meet to share craft it said the One Tree Point Art & Craft Working Exhibition would be held at Marsden Bay Yacht Club in One Tree Point on January 27 and 28. The event will be held in the large marquee at Marsden Cove Marina from 10am to 4pm each day.
