Northlanders with a range of physical impairments in all age groups took to the Tutukaka Coast to try a range of watersports on Saturday.
Twenty participants took part in the Flight Centre Foundation Halberg Water Sports Day that was organised at two venues- Kowharewa Bay and Sandy Bay.
Paddleboarding, rowing, waka ama and sailing were organised at Kowharewa Bay while surfing and boogie boarding was at Sandy Bay.
Halberg Disability Sport adviser for Northland Maia Lewis was pleased with the turnout.
"It was ideal for people to try some watersports they have not tried before. The wind picked up in the end but we got through it all," she said.
The event moves to Red Beach in Orewa next week.
Ms Lewis said surfing would be organised under the Flight Centre Foundation Halberg Water Sports Day in Tutukaka in March.
Northern Advocate photographer Tania Whyte captured the action.
