A man who allegedly sparked a car chase south of Whangarei has been remanded in custody on four amphetamine-related charges.
Robert Wayne Blewden, 37, appeared via audio visual link in Whangarei District Court this week on three charges of importing methamphetamine, or P as it is also known, three of burglary, breaching release conditions, two of theft, and single charges of conspiring to deal methamphetamine, unlawfully taking a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop, and reckless driving.
Blewden pleaded guilty to the 10 non-drugs charges and was remanded in custody for sentencing in the Whangarei District Court on February 27.
He was remanded in custody without plea on the four drug charges, to appear in the Wellington District Court on March 31.
Blewden allegedly was the subject of a police chase after a suspected burglary in Waipu last month.
Police said that he evaded capture during the pursuit but was later arrested.
