The Takahiwai Warriors showed why they have the most formidable offensive record in the Rugby League Northland MultiKai Cooker Premiership, putting the second-placed Hokianga Pioneers to the sword 48-22.
Despite a flat tyre slowing Takahiwai from reaching Otaua, it didn't slow them as they hit the ground running.
In what was described as a team effort on Saturday, Hokianga's defence - which was the second best in the competition before the weekend - was put well and truly to the test as they leaked nearly 50 points.
For Takahiwai, the best back was Joel Freeman while best forward went to Mike Hauraki and player of the day was Adam Donaldson.
The win means Takahiwai solidify their spot on top of the table ahead of hosting the Hikurangi Stags this weekend.
In other round eight MultiKai Cooker Premiership results, Hikurangi had a storming 88-10 win over the Hora Hora Broncos at Bluegoose.
Hora Hora's thumping comes just a week after Takahiwai pumped them 98-0, leaving them with 408 points conceded from eight games so far - an average of 51 a game.
The Otangarei Knights continued their progression up the table with a 42-26 win over Kerikeri while the Northern Wairoa Bulls were successful against Muriwhenua Kuaka 36-6 and the Portland Panther beat the Moerewa Tigers 48-22.
In other rugby league news, New Zealand Rugby League chief executive Phil Holden will visit Whangarei's Toll Stadium today to check preparations for the Kiwis first visit to Northland later this year.
