Creative Northland's ArtBeat will be back in Whangarei on February 3, and according to the organisers will be better than ever.

A "stellar line-up" of local artists would entertain all day on the main stage, with entertainer Luke Bird MC'ing for the third year in a row.

"The great thing about ArtBeat is that all the activities are free, like getting creative and experimenting with different art genres in the Resene Interactive Art Zone that the whole family can enjoy," a spokesman said.

"Littlies will be able to go to the Plus Chartered Accountants fairy grotto for face-painting, puppet shows, a treasure hunt and a little bit of magic. Where else can you do all this free?"
More than 50 local art and food stalls scattered throughout Cafler Park would create a real
market atmosphere, he said.

"Bring your family and your picnic blanket and enjoy Whangarei's biggest community interactive arts festival."
