North Haven Hospice is a specialist Hospice and Palliative Care Service which has been providing quality, professional and dedicated care to patients and families for over 25 years. The Hospice is committed to a forward thinking and innovative approach to service development and collaboration.
This role is part of the Family Support Team that offers counselling, social work, cultural support, spiritual care and bereavement support.
You will be focusing on providing spiritual support (wairuatanga) to North Haven Hospice patients and their families/whanau; acknowledging and respecting their unique beliefs, culture and values. This support extends into the bereavement period.
We look forward to hearing from you if you have the following:
At least two years experience working with those requiring spiritual support; preferably in the areas of death, dying, loss and grief
Experience working with people with a range of spiritual and religious beliefs
Ideally an appropriate qualification or have had spiritual, theological or philosophical training
Please note you will be required to have a clear police check under the Vulnerable Children's Act.
