Northland Fish & Game Council seeks a self-motivated individual to be part of their team.
The position is based in the Far North area where the successful applicant will be part of a small yet experienced professional and dedicated team, working to protect and manage our sports fish and game bird resource.
The main focus of the position will be on game bird management, although the successful applicant will also be involved in sports fish programmes, resource enhancement projects, advocacy, public awareness, resource management act issues and compliance.
The applicant will also have other general responsibilities related to providing advice on fish and game matters to our licence holders and the general public.
Prerequisites for the position would include:
Well-developed oral and written communication skills;
The ability to relate well to anglers and hunters and members of the public;
An understanding of Te Reo and Tikanga Maori would be an advantage;
Knowledge of fish and game management principles and angling and hunting techniques;
A tertiary qualification in biology, resource management or related fields, would be an advantage;
An interest in fishing and/or hunting;
Physical fitness;
The ability to work on your own and be part of a small team;
Driver's licence;
No criminal record.
