LJ Hooker has turned its static central Whangarei shopfront real estate listings area into an interactive touch-screen window experience.

The technology allows people to browse properties for sale and shop even when the store is closed.

Digital marketing company Labyrinth Solutions is behind the technology. It was originally developed for retailers but Labyrinth managing director Vaughan Reed said he realised there was a huge demand for the product in the real estate industry.

"We were so excited to be working with LJ Hooker Whangarei to roll-out the 1st Touch Window in Whangarei," Mr Reed said.

"Their switched-on team had a clear vision and the great outcome reflects their organised project management in this regard."

The technology allows people to explore a full range of properties on a 55" high-bright display.

Potential buyers can read the full description and key features, view high-quality images, play a video, get driving directions to the property, email the listing to themselves or forward to a friend and switch to Google Street View to look around the neighbourhood.

LJ Hooker Whangarei business manager Grant Murray said there had not really been any major advancement in technology within their real estate front office for some time.

"This exciting technology brings our office front window into the 21st century and enables customers to explore the property on a large screen rather than making potential clients delve into their pocket for their mobile phone to view the property on a 4" screen," he said.
