Northland's newest McDonald's restaurant is on track for completion before Christmas.
The restaurant is being built on the corner of Otaika Rd (State Highway One) and Tauroa St, across from the Gull service station and Bunnings.
It will bring 50 to 70 permanent jobs, McDonald's spokesman Simon Kenny said.
The fast food retailer was spending around $1 million on restaurant equipment, while the land and construction costs were managed by the developer, he said.
McDonald's says the attraction of the new site is the passing traffic which offers access to the main highway.
