Police have not been able to uncover any recent links between murdered Maori trust leader Keri Stephens and his underworld past.
Mr Stephens, aged 56, was shot dead 16 days ago at his Delaware Bay home, 25km north of Nelson.
On Wednesday, Mr Stephens' widow, Bridget, said rumours that she had been involved in the murder were untrue.
