China's tourism gurus have adopted sports and fitness as the country's tourism theme this year, and the natural resources should be incentive enough to get cracking.
Travellers can hike China's mountain ranges, travel its rivers, ski its snowfields or walk in its deserts.
Since 1992, China has selected an annual theme to promote itself. Next year, the theme will be folk arts, and in 2003 it will be cuisine.
