Hamilton's Steve Alker is the top placed kiwi heading into today's final round at the Greg Norman Golf International at the Lakes course in Sydney.
Alker fired a 2-under-par 71 yesterday to move into a tie for eighth at ten under the card.
Spain's Sergio Garcia and Aussie Aaron Baddeley share the lead at 16-under for the tournament.
Garcia was holding the outright lead by two shots but was penalised two strokes after completing his round for illegally taking a free drop on the opening hole.
