Harrison Ford is "Dutch" Van Den Broek, a sour Internal Affairs cop in Washington, DC; Kristin Scott Thomas is Kay Chandler, a congresswoman.
The two meet because their cheatin' partners are killed in a plane crash on their way to meet
in Florida.
Dutch becomes obsessed with the affair but Chandler is running for re-election, dislikes the gruff cop and sees no reason to poke about in the dirty linen.
Despite this she joins him on a trip to Miami, scene of the grime.
Back in Washington she offers him a ride home, and a little bit more than that in the airport carpark.
Their affair, and a sub-plot about one of Dutch's investigations, is clunky and never believable.
Funny thing is, Ford delivers a better performance in this poor movie than in several higher-rated ones.
