An American man's post about how he and his wife divide their roles has gone viral on Facebook.
Dale Partridge works full time while his wife stays home with their children.
"She spends all week serving me and the kids. I spend all week serving the bills," he wrote on Facebook.
"Most men think it's a fair trade, but I doubt it. Husbands, we are no more entitled to a restful weekend than our wives. The badge of 'breadwinner' doesn't authorise us to escape our home duties come Saturday and Sunday.
"The luxury of rest is a gift many men steal from their wives each weekend. Remember, the 40-hour work week is a cultural standard, but God tells us to share our wive's burdens and protect her from strain. It's okay to rest, God even commands it, just make sure you're not the only one doing it."
He accompanied the words with this photo of his wife and one of their children.
The post has since been shared more than 50,000 times and has received 89,000 likes.
Many of the thousands of comments are from women praising Mr Partridge for understanding that being a stay-at-home mother isn't a "holiday".
"My husband is the boss at this! He works all week while I'm home with our son, but every Sunday after church he offers me a nap with no time limit attached. Some Sundays I need 2 hours, sometimes 20 minutes, and sometimes I skip and we spend the extra time together. But knowing he prioritises my physical and mental health means so much to me!" one woman wrote. Another said, "So many women work outside of the home AND do nearly all of the work at home. So glad to hear a man 'get' that their 'free time' is not for playing while their wives take care of everything else."
