An Essex woman was on her daily commute on the London Underground "fat shamed" by a man handing out cards stating "You are a fat, ugly human" and "a waste of NHS money", the woman has taken to social media to express her disgust.
The leaflets the man was handing out came from a group allegedly called Overweight Haters Limited, which declares it "hates and resents fat people".
The card goes on to say "We object to the enormous amount of food resources you consume while half the world starves. We disapprove of you wasting NHS money to treat your selfish greed. And we do not understand why you fail to grasp that by eating less you will be better off, slimmer, happy and find a partner who is not a perverted chubby-lover, or even a partner at all."
It then finished with, "We also object that the beatiful [sic] pig is used as an insult. You are not a pig. You are a fat, ugly human."
A fellow commuter, Tom Knox tweeted that he saw a woman reduced to tears after witnessing a man giving her a leaflets before getting off at Oxford Circus tube station.
"For balance & sanity, my same Tube journey today began when I saw a woman approach a cold homeless guy - & offer to buy him coffee," he tweeted.
Kara Florish, responded by posting a photo on Facebook of the card she received and wrote: "To the person who wrote this card - go back to school, you can't spell beautiful."
