It was named the burger of the year by Time magazine.
Now the Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger may be on its way to New Zealand.
The Wendy's burger with pretzels in place of traditional buns was named 2013's "most important" and "most talked about" fast food snack.
Time magazine cited a Burger Business report saying no other burger was anticipated or more scrutinised.
"Its popularity cemented 2013 as the Year of the Bun," it said.
Wendy's New Zealand chief executive Danielle Lendich said his fast food chain was inspired by the burger's success.
It was looking at adapting the burger for New Zealand customers, he said.
"We're certainly looking into whether we can replicate the burger here in New Zealand. Most Kiwis are probably not that familiar with soft pretzels like they are in the States, but we certainly all enjoy a good food fad."
