Oceania
Qantas Airways, Australia
Business Class
Basics: Bamboo toothbrush, ear plugs, cotton eye mask, socks.
Beauty: Mini lip balm and face & hand cream from indigenous beauty brand Li-Tya.
Bag: A grey and blue zip wallet, which is a nice size but doesn’t quite stand up on its own.

Verdict: It’s simple and the beauty products are just enough for a long-haul flight but has all the essentials and we’d use the bag again.
Air New Zealand, NZ
Business Premier
Basics: Bamboo toothbrush, toothpaste, earplugs, socks, cardboard paper pen.
Beauty: Tub of day cream (30ml), kawakawa face oil, hand & body cream and lip balm from local skincare brand Aotea.
Bag: Made from paper, the bag folds and clicks into magnetic buttons. It’s surprisingly durable and our team have used the bags for months after flying.

Verdict: The bag may have ‘packed-lunch’ vibes, but the focus on sustainability, use of a local brand and generously sized samples make this kit a win in our books.
Fiji Airways, Fiji
Business Class
Basics: Bamboo toothbrush, mini toothpaste, eyemask, pen, socks.
Beauty: A 15ml body lotion and hand sanitizer by local Fiji brand, Pure Fiji.
Bag: A simple material pouch with a zip and Fijian pattern design in brown and black.

Verdict: We would probably leave the bag on the plane but you can bet the Pure Fiji lotion and bamboo toothbrush are coming with us.
America & South America
Hawaiian Airlines, United Airlines, LATAM Airlines
Hawaiian Airlines, USA
Business Class
Basics: Bamboo toothbrush, toothpaste, wooden comb, earplugs, pen, reef-safe sunscreen, eyemask, socks.
Beauty: Hydrating mist, lip balm and body balm from Hawaiian skincare brand, Loli’i.
Bag: Instead of a zip, the small material bag has a flap, which is secured with a wooden button and elastic. It’s a little smaller than other airline kit bags but perfect for those who like to travel light.

Verdict: Small but full of all the essentials (especially the reef-safe sunscreen) and with a card explaining where each product was made, this is a perfect pack en route to Hawai’i.
United Airlines, USA
Business Class
Basics: Toothbrush, toothpaste, mini pen, eyemask, tissues, earplugs, socks
Beauty: Lip balm, hand cream and face cream from American beauty brand Sunday Riley.
Bag: A miniature hard-cover suitcase with a zipper, made in collaboration with American luxury luggage brand, Away.

Verdict: The products are more sample-sized than travel-sized, but it’s a top-notch brand and the hard case box is certainly one we’d use again to hold fragile items.
LATAM Airlines, Chile
Business Class
Basics: Bamboo toothbrush, mini toothpaste, eyemask, earplugs.
Beauty: Towelette, hand cream and lip balm by Brazilian cosmetics brand, Feito Brasil.
Bag: No surprise, the Chilean airline has vibrant, artistic bags that are 93 per cent recycled plastic and designed by South American artists.

Verdict: Sustainable from the outside in, we love how the kit ticks the green boxes whilst remaining fun, locally focused and functional.
Middle East & Asia
Emirates, Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines
Emirates, Dubai
First Class
Basics: Toothbrush, toothpaste, mini deodorant, brush/comb, tissues.
Beauty: Face emulsion, body lotion and 5ml eau du toilette by Italian luxury brand Bvlgari. Women’s bags have a compact mirror, and men’s bags have a 30ml Bvlgari perfume, Gillette razor & foam.
Bag: The Bvlgari bags are a buttery soft leather with a single zip and come in silver for women and black/tan for men.

Verdict: First class is always a step above business and these amenity kits (if one could even call them that) are obvious proof; we would be thrilled to receive both the bag and its contents any day.
Qatar Airways, Qatar
First Class
Basics: Eyemasks, socks (which are both made from recycled plastics) and earplugs.
Beauty: Face cream, body lotion, lip balm and 10ml eau de toilette from famous French perfumery brand, Diptyque.
Bag: Women get a black and white purse with a flap and zip, while men get a slim black vegan leather pouch. Diptyque-branded, both are of soft vegan leather and are perfectly travel size.

Verdict: Luxury is obviously covered with the bag and beauty products but we would be interested in a few more ‘basic’ items like pens and toothbrushes.
Singapore Airlines, Singapore
First Class
Basics: Interestingly, there was a plastic bag (a handy item during a flight) but no basic toiletries, which are available on request to reduce waste.
Beauty: Lip balm, body lotion facial mist and 30ml bottle of eau de toilette from French luxury brand, Lalique.
Bag: Men and women receive subtly-branded leather bags, made in collaboration with Lalique. They come with a single zip and while the bags are sturdy, the leather feels soft and luxurious.

Verdict: Like Qatar, we adore the high-quality beauty products (especially the facial mist) and robust perfume; just ensure you have room in your carry on to take them with you.
