Hastings stables are strongly represented at tomorrow's Hawke's Bay New Year meeting with Pinpoint, Earaheedy and Fatal Embrace rated excellent winning chances.
Pinpoint lines up in race nine and certainly deserves a victory after three close seconds from her last three starts.
The Grant Cullen-trained mare has been freshened since finishing just a short head behind Affinity over 1400m at Woodville and promises to be hard to beat again, even from an outside barrier.
Her stablemate Fatal Embrace also recorded a good second at the Waipukurau meeting at Woodville on December 4, over 1200m. He has trained on extra well since and should appreciate an extra 200 metres in race six.
Earaheedy only managed seventh over 2000m at Awapuni last start but was forced to cover a lot of extra ground from a wide draw and also didn't help her chances by wanting to lug in all the way up the home straight. She galloped straight and true in a strong workout at last Tuesday's Hastings track session.
