The New Zealand women's canoe polo team featuring a Hawke's Bay mother-and-daughter duo have won their first buildup tournament for this month's World Cup in Amsterdam.
Shelley Hubbard is managing the New Zealand Paddle Ferns side which her daughter Emma is playing in. They were unbeaten on the way to winning their first international event in Copenhagen which included a 3-1 victory against Australia in the final.
The Paddle Ferns along with the New Zealand men's side will play in buildup tournaments in Belgium this week before starting the World Cup next week. The Kiwi men were beaten 3-2 by Australia in their Copenhagen tournament final.
