Two Hawke's Bay athletes won gold during the penultimate day of the Oceania Masters Games in Rarotonga yesterday.
Napier's Tare Teautama won the men's 35-39 grade long jump with a leap of 5.08m, and Dawn Cumming of Havelock North won both the 200m steeplechase and the 800m in the women's 70-74 age group.
Other Hawke's Bay athletes to feature were Daniel Haddock, who was fifth in the men's 55-60 5000m and Helen Tobin, who came seventh in the same event for women.
The 260 masters athletes from throughout the Pacific region are competing in track & field, road walks, cross country and marathon at the championships.
