Our secret appears to be out. Not sure who told but the entire country has realised that Hawke's Bay is a pretty special place.
People are flocking to the region to holiday or to attend events.
There are 'no vacancy' signs everywhere, the supermarkets are flat out, cafe cabinets are looking a bit sad by the end of the day and the roads are crazy.
One of the reasonsfor the influx of people is the weather.
Take a look at the weather map on any given day in the past few weeks and the sun is almost always shining over the Bay. Yes we have had a couple of days of rain but we needed it and I'm sure visitors to the Bay found something to do.
As if the region was not already bursting at the seams tomorrow will see it overflowing with the arrival of the largest cruise ship to sail Australasian waters.
The Royal Caribbean's Ovation of the Seas is due in port at 7.30am and will depart at 5.30pm.
In the hours between thousands of people will pour into Hawke's Bay to shop, go sightseeing and sample some of the best food and wine in New Zealand.
Actually that's probably how our secret got out. People love to talk and when they've been somewhere as fantastic as Hawke's Bay they can't stop talking about it to family and friends.
So those family and friends decide they don't want to miss out on this little slice of paradise so into town they come.
They eventually have to leave, but we get to stay and call this place home. How lucky are we.
