There are still places available on a fund-raising horse trek next month.
The Maraekakaho School has turned the trek into an annual event and last year made it two days.
The first day on December 3 is booked out but organiser Paula Black said there was still some room on day two. The trek will be around Ngatarawa and the Gimblett Gravels area.
The Ngaruroro River, farmland and vineyards make up the scenery on this ride.
"We have riders coming from all over the North Island and even two flying in from Sydney for the trek."
As they ride around the wineries, the trekkers will be treated to silver service wine and beer-tastings and a Raymond van Rijk barbecue lunch at the Ngatarawa winery.
There will be an after-trek social occasion on the Saturday, also catered by Raymond van Rijk.
A feature of the social time will be the auction of three sketches by well-known animal portrait painter Jane Langdale.
The one day-trek costs $80. The after-trek supper costs $25 for adults and $10 for children and bookings are essential. Riders must be over 18.
Registration packs are available from Kate Renton, phone 874 9417, and Paula Black, phone 874 9793.
