Secondary school teachers will next week vote on possible strike action after Post Primary Teachers Association (PPTA) members rejected the Government's latest pay offer.
There will be a half day next week so more than 18,000 teachers can attend special meetings to vote on strike action, the Dominion Post reported.
The meetings come after 97 percent of PPTA members previously voted to stop pay talks with the Ministry of Education.
Several options will be put to members, including striking and a ``work to rule'' action.
PPTA president Kate Gainsford said the next move would be up to union members.
An announcement will be made at the end of the month.
