Shoppers hitting Napier's inner-city streets have four days left to scoop up a bargain as well as go into a draw to win one of four prizes of $1000 cash.
The annual winter City on Sale promotions has seen more than 140 businesses, from clothing shops to coffee, hair styling, jewellery, books, food, toys and "practically everything" as Napier Inner City Marketing's Meg Rodel put it.
Participating stores have been swathed in red and white City For Sale plastic ribbons, and in previous years about 40 per cent of the businesses involved had reported an increase in turnover, she said.
It had become a popular and effective shopping campaign at a time of the year when customer numbers were generally down.
Ms Rodel said the four cash prizes were on offer to anyone buying something from a City on Sale business and the close-off point would be at 5pm on Sunday. The winner would be drawn on August 2.
