Eskview Blues sealed their 2020 Hawke's Bay Women's Premiership football victory last Sunday, having gone unbeaten through the entire league.
They ended up with 44 competition points to runner-up Port Hill's 41, scoring 105 goals and conceding just 13 across their 14 wins and two draws.
Port Hill have dominated the competition over the last couple of years, with Eskview finishing runners-up to them on both occasions.
The Blues were coached by Tony Bartlett and Craig Lennox, and Bartlett said he found coaching women for the first time a little different and more difficult.
"This has been a real learning curve for me but an excellent season, and I've really enjoyed it with the girls," he said, praising their commitment and improvement over the season.
"All over the park, I just can't say enough about the girls, they've been outstanding."
Captain Nancy Read was the top scorer with 38 goals and Bartlett said she was a special player and great leader.
He said one of those goals was an "absolute peach", a curling shot at the most opportune of times:
It gave Eskview a 1-0 win over Port Hill, handing the defending champions their first loss in two years.
Eskview Blues also won the Challenge Cup this season.
