The Hastings family of widow Kylee Guy are steeling themselves ahead of the trial of the man accused of murdering her husband Scott Guy.
Mr Guy's brother-in-law, Ewen Kerry Macdonald, 32, was charged with murder after an intensive nine-month police investigation. He will defend the charge in a trial beginning
on Tuesday.
Mr Guy, 31, was gunned down in the driveway of his rural Feilding home in the early hours of July 8, 2010, as he set out to do the milking.
Justice Simon France last year ruled to shift the trial from Palmerston North to the High Court in Wellington due to concerns about possible jury impartiality in the Manawatu.
Since her husband's death, Kylee Guy and sons Hunter and Drover have moved to Hawke's Bay.
