Two people charged following the attack and robbery of a pizza delivery man in January have today pleaded guilty to all charges.

Charlene Senara Potaua, 18, and Piula Efaraima Fiti, 17, stood next to each other in the dock before Judge Bridget Mackintosh at Napier District Court.

Two other people also face charges relating to the incident but are being dealt with in Youth Court.

Fiti and Potaua are jointly charged with aggravated robbery, and each face other additional charges as well.

Fiti admitted to unlawfully interfering with a vehicle, and possessing a knife in a public place.

He was also charged with possessing an offensive weapon but the charge was downgraded to another charge of possessing a knife.

Potaua pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to comply with police when being followed with red and blue flashing lights.

The charges relate to an incident where Dominos pizza worker Shashi Sharma was assaulted when he drove to a Bluff Hill address to deliver pizza on a Friday night in January.

Police charge sheets stated his cell phone was stolen as well as pizza worth $42.

A summary read at an earlier court appearance stated the car, a BMW, was also taken, but was tracked by a Dominos GPS tracker until the device was turned off.

The tracker was disabled but police spotted the car and pulled it over before arresting the two occupants.

Mr Sharma suffered multiple facial-bone fractures and a cut to the back of the head.

Judge Mackintosh made an order for restorative justice to be carried out.

Potaua's lawyer Eric Forster told Judge Mackintosh his client had initially been in custody for three weeks before being granted electronically monitored bail.

Fiti's lawyer Matthew Phelps said bail had been declined and his client remained in custody.

The pair were remanded for sentencing by the Crown on April 22.

Aggravated robbery carries a maximum penalty of 14 years' jail.
