Auckland punk-rock band Carb on Carb will be playing their first show in Napier in March this year.
The band is a two piece made up of James Stutely and Nicole Gaffney.
Stutely plays drums and Gaffney is the front person for the band, playing guitar and singing.
Stutely saidit was the curiosity of Napier's music scene that led the band to investigate the possibility of a show there.
"I'm curious about what music is like down there and it's quite a big city. We've played in Palmerston North which is smaller than Napier/Hastings so thought we'd give it a shot, Stutely said.
This tour, celebrating the release of the single It's been a rough year, takes them all around the North Island, including their first shows in Napier and New Plymouth, and playing the inimitable Newtown Festival.
Stutely describes their music as direct and relatable, with songs about dogs, parents and making mistakes.
"I guess it's punk rock music that has a strong emotional element," he said.
