A group assault at a Flaxmere house last night was gang-related and police say a gun was fired.
A police cordon was in place at a property on the corner of Chatham Road and Flaxmere Avenue this morning.
A police spokeswoman confirmed Hawke's Bay Police were investigating a gang-related attack at a Flaxmere home that occurred at about 10pm on August 9.
"Two people were assaulted during the incident and received minor injuries. Five vehicles were damaged.
"Police also believe a shot was fired by one of the offenders, but fortunately nobody was injured as a result of that.
"We are continuing to make inquiries into this incident and would appreciate hearing from anyone who can provide information."
