The sister of wanted Hastings man Raquada-Charles Edwards is pleading for him to hand himself in.
"Please, my brother, do the right thing," Krystal Timu begged.
She feared for his safety and said she did not know where he might be, adding, "I hope he is okay".
Edwards has been on the run for almost a month.
"I've had my moments where I have broken down crying and thinking about him and where he could be, and sleepless nights. But I think I'm not the only one that is worried," Ms Timu said.
Edwards was wanted after chasing his partner and ramming the van she was hiding in a dozen times before fleeing the scene in Hastings on February 5.
It was not known whether he was still in the region.
Since Edwards appeared on TVNZ's Police Ten 7 programme on Thursday, Detective Senior Sergeant Martin James said he didn't believe the response had been great.
"A number of inquiries are being made both within and outside of Hawke's Bay to try and locate him."
"We are doing our best to locate him. The case is still very much active and we are obviously keen to have him speak with us."
Mr James reminded anyone who harboured him "that they will find themselves charged".
Police previously said Edwards had links to Mayfair and Havelock North, was a drug user and was considered dangerous.
Ms Timu said all the "stress from this incident has taken a toll, not only just on me but the rest of my family too".
She said it didn't help seeing people "slander him" on social media.
"He is a son, father, uncle, nephew and cousin to many who love and miss him very much.
"He was not that bad of a person he would help fix things for people he didn't know, he loved going out diving with the family and I can say he loved his children, nieces and nephews all the same."
She said "the drug 'P' has taken over people in ways you would not ever imagine and I am and always will be against it".
The February 5 incident started at Gull service station on Omahu Rd at about 6am, where contractors were waiting in their van when a woman approached asking them to take her to the police station as her partner was going to beat her up.
Moments later a man appeared, and the van driver drove away with the woman inside. The man allegedly chased them down the road in his own vehicle, ramming their white van up to 12 times.
The pursuit came to an end at the intersection of Grays Rd and Heretaunga St West, where the man allegedly "manoeuvred" the van into the roundabout before ramming the stationary van.
The man is alleged to have then tried to climb into the van and grab the woman. After a witness threatened to call police the man is also alleged to have rammed the van three more times, then driven off.
Four people were taken to Hawke's Bay Hospital, with two discharged later that day.
Anyone with information as to Edwards' whereabouts is asked to contact the police or provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
