Temperatures are expected to heat the beach as thousands flock to Waimarama for a fun family affair.
Tomorrow's annual Waimarama Beach Day, organised by the Waimarama Surf Life Saving Club, will be cloudy but hot with a high of 26C.
MetService meteorologist Lisa Murray said it may feel a little colder in the morning and evening but the beach should be perfect throughout the day, even with a slight sea breeze in the afternoon.
"Temperatures are looking nice, it's going to be warm."
Showers are expected in the ranges and depending on what direction the wind takes there was a low chance of a few being pushed out to shore so there was a slight possibility of a downpour or two, she said.
Waimarama Beach Day co-ordinator Debbie Morgan said she was relieved with the weather forecast as earlier in the week there had been talks of a rain blast for Sunday.
"I'm looking forward to a bright, sunny day."
There will be something for everyone to enjoy with children's games, Mr and Miss Waimarama, food and more, she said.
The kids zone, which started last year, will be great for children under 10.
"It's something for the whole family to enjoy."
People can bring a picnic or purchase food there for a fun-filled day.
The 2018 Kids Zone, sponsored by The Cherry Grove Childcare and Family Centre, would run a bouncy castle, games and Fonterra train rides from 10am to 2pm.
There will also be a beach dig at 10am, sandcastle competition at 10.45am, dash for cash at 12pm, a helicopter rescue at 12.30pm and Mr and Miss Waimarama beauty competition at 2pm.
Throughout the day there will be chances for people to donate to the club, including a road block with eftpos, so the lifesaving team can continue their work this summer.
All money raised will help with ongoing costs and promoting lifesaving to the younger generation.
The club made $8000 from last year's beach day with $3000 from the road block.
