Everything from European styled fires to innovative flooring will be on display at this year's Home and Living Show.
The show had a busy start yesterday with people from across the region visiting the 120 different exhibits at the Pettigrew Green Arena.
Show director Hamish McBeth said if anyone was thinking about building, renovating or landscaping, this show was for them.
"I guess it's the only time people get to see a wide range of home and living aspects all under one roof."
He expected about 8000 people to come through by the end of Sunday and said there were similar exhibitions to last year but a lot of new products.
"They are displaying the latest in home technology and the hottest trends so they will give people some good inspiration."
One of these latest technologies was this year's show prize a $7800 bionic fire from EnviroSolve.
Company director Dr Rene Haeberli said the fire was the first fully mechanically automatic ultra low emission burner in the country.
"All you have to do is light the fire, you don't even have to close the door, it shuts on its own and can rotate 360C."
Dr Haeberli said the fire was great for the environment and would heat the house with very low emissions and very little wood.
"It is a good sustainable product for the home."
EnviroSolve was at the show last year and Dr Haeberli said they had a good day yesterday.
"It is about promoting our product. It takes time for people to get used to it since it is something different."
Mr McBeth said there were also "Ask an Expert" sessions, which would give people the opportunity to discuss any queries they had with some of the best in the field.
Today and tomorrow there will be free sessions on Naturally Fermented Organic Bread Making, Solar Savings, Showcasing Homes with Colour, Solar Power and Water Heating Solutions, and Energy Efficient Home Designs.
The first session starts at10:45am with the last one starting at 2:45pm.
Health is a focus this year too with exhibits like Nuttz Gourmet, Flex Fitness, Health 2000 and Healthy Inspirations.
"I think it is important to realise there is a substantial focus on sustainable living," Mr McBeth said.
The show runs today and tomorrow from 10am-5pm and tickets for adults are $7 while under 16's are free.
