A woman was harassed in Napier on her way home from work this afternoon, police say.

A man followed the woman from her workplace on Thackeray St to her car on Carlyle St at about 5pm.

Once she reached her car the man continued to harass her before attempting to get in her car.

He was asking her to assist him in getting some prescription medicine but the woman was able to drive off.


The man was described as a Somalian or Sri Lankin between 23 and 30 years of age with a slim build and about 5'8- 5'11 tall with short hair.

He was wearing tan footwear, grey/black faded jeans and a black top with a monogram on it.

Police are seeking any further information in relation to this incident and would like to hear from anyone who may have been approached by this male.
