Due to unprecedented demand for tickets to this year's Cocktail Party in aid of the Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter Trust, the Hastings Karamu Rotary Club is "delighted" to announce a change of venue.
Now in its 25th year, this special anniversary party was due to take place at the Graeme Lowe Rescue Helicopter Hangar on Orchard Road on April 15, but will now take place at the A&P Showgrounds Exhibition Hall on the same date.
John Roil, director of Community Service at the Hastings Karamu Rotary Club said, "This year, there has been a huge demand for tickets in advance of the event, which has meant that we have had to consider an alternative venue for the evening."
Ian Wilmot, General Manager at the Trust said "Because of the higher than expected number of guests for this year's party, it quickly became apparent that we couldn't keep to the original plan of hosting the event at the hangar, and continue to keep our Rescue Helicopter services operational throughout the event"
Mr Roil added, "This is a great position for us to be in, as the more people who attend the event, the more vital funds will be raised to support our local life-saving Rescue Helicopter Service"
Every dollar raised from the event will go towards helping to keep the Hawke's Bay Rescue Helicopter operational, free of charge at point of use, and available 24/7 to everyone in Hawke's Bay.
Tickets are just $95, and this is promising to be "the best year yet" as the event showcases 25 years of entertainment and support for the community.
