A day after police made an arrest in relation to the robbery of a Hastings service station last month they were called to another incident where a firearm had been pointed at the attendant.
The attendant, who was working alone at the Mobil Service Station on Pakowhai Rd last Friday night, was outside on the forecourt around 8.45 when a man entered the station and headed toward a display of cigarettes and tobacco.
The man began helping himself and the attendant went in to see what was going on.
"When confronted by the attendant he pointed a pistol at him forcing the attendant to retreat from the shop," Hawke's Bay CIB acting Detective Sergeant Glenn Yule said.
The offender made off with stock.
Mr Yule said the worker had been left shaken. The robber is described as male Maori, of stocky build and aged between 18 and 20 years.
