Quality Bakers will resume production tomorrow after a fire threatened the Onekawa bakery on Monday.
Goodman Fielder corporate affairs manager Ra Fletcher said the site's 23 staff members expected to resume production tomorrow.
The cause of the blaze, which sprang up in the bakery's roof area on Monday, was still being investigated but it appeared damage to the building was "largely superficial".
"Thanks to the quick reaction of production supervisor Rob Malone, who raised the alarm, and the fast response from the fire service, the building did not suffer major damage," Mr Fletcher said.
Firefighters rushed to the Niven St building on Monday afternoon after alarms and sprinklers activated. The fire was under control in 15 minutes.
The site produces Nature's Fresh and Molenberg products for the Hawke's Bay market and further afield.
