The company behind the residential redevelopment of Napier's former hospital site has begun marketing the first apartments it plans to build in the new hilltop subdivision.
Todd Property is offering 26 apartments - priced from $250,000 to $875,000 - on the site of the former Arohaina maternity hospital.
The complex has been designed by Napier-based Paris Magdalinos Architects and many of the apartments will have sweeping views of Ahuriri.
"We think the apartments will have huge appeal to home buyers," Todd Property managing director Evan Davies said.
"The design is fresh, modern and makes the most of the stunning location."
The one to three-bedroom apartments are due to be built by late next year or early 2016, he said.
Meanwhile a date is yet to be finalised for a hearing into Todd Property's resource consent application for an adjourning development on the hospital site, including plans to build twin eight-storey residential towers.
Napier City Council said yesterday it was awaiting additional information from Todd Property before confirming a hearing date, likely to be in late October or November.
The company's plans for the latter stages of its development include demolishing the former hospital's main tower block and replacing it with two eight-storey buildings, each containing 18 apartments.
It has also applied to build a further 21 terraced houses and six detached houses on the 5ha site.
