Hastings' much-heralded William Nelson Park will be opened tomorrow in an official ceremony.
The park is on 6000sq m of land bordered by St Aubyn St, King St and Avenue Rd.
It incorporates a large green space, a children's playground and a skate plaza.
For eight weeks following tomorrow's opening, two guardians will be at the park from midday until 9pm, seven days a week .

A security guard will take over at 9pm each evening and be there throughout the night.
State-of-the-art closed-circuit TV cameras have also been installed to overlook the park.
The opening ceremony, beginning at 10am, will be followed by displays and entertainment.
